This Saturday, July 18th Ocean City will be hosting Ocean Games for the third year. Ocean Games is a combination of two separate events, an open ocean swim called "Swim Ocean City" and the East Coast SUP Cup, a stand up paddleboard race. What is great about this event is that it provides an opportunity for both seasoned and rookie swimmers and paddle boarders to race.

The Swim Ocean City race offers a 1,3 or 9 mile race with the start point being determined the morning of the race depending on ocean conditions. The East Coast SUP Cup offers two races, elite and novice and will begin on N Division St beach. The event kicks off with a welcome at 9:30am and the 9 mile race starts at 10am. Race starts are then staggered for the rest of the morning. Yoga will be offered on the beach at 12:30 for all spectators.

Although Ocean Games is a great way to have fun in the water, and let your competitive side out, it serves a bigger purpose. The event is a fundraiser for the Johns Hopkins Brain and Stroke Rehab program. Ocean City native Corey Davis founded the games after the rehab program helped him get back to his life after a motorcycle accident in 2007.
